Simplicity

by

Jason Cebalo

Simplicity, the breath which animates
Her beauty, for the Hand which sketched her knows
The power of understatement to invoke
Thoughts of a timeless rising of the sun.

There is no single feature, not her eyes,
Her smile or hair which calls for special note.
But all display an integration like
That of the old form of the Roman Mass

Simplicity exhales humility
Like fresh spring grass, her beauty is adorned
By unreflective ignorance of just
How wonderful it is.
