House of Mirrors

by William Alexander

Low and behold
In the glades of yesterday
Fractured understanding leads to answers, not dismay
Gaze at this
A crafted scene of littered pride
My worth is framed by very few yet the action's justified

So divided
A thousand reflections without you
Brought back together
When I hear your voice just ringing through

Walking free from the house of mirrors
The leap is not so far, from the barrow that had unmade me
Steering clear of those splitting illusions
Everything won't be ok, but I like it this way
Freeing life

For once and ever on
Forget what was spoken in those rooms
Faults are so conspicious until we cease to loom
Break the waves with me
Slice the shores, we'll stop the tide
Alone without life's lessons we're free to roam it wide

So divided
Not a single photo made for two
Brought back together
The whole horizon back in view

Walking free from the house of mirrors
The leap is not so far, from the barrow that had unmade me
Steering clear of those splitting illusions
Everything won't be ok, but I like it this way
Freeing life
