What You Haven't

by

Jack Phillips Lowe

Never to feel
her smooth lips
tasting yours.

Never to feel
her firm flesh
pressing yours.

Never to feel
her moist clasp
of your member.

The absence
soon feels
normal.

The gap
starts to
define you.

You’re not
what you have—
you’re what you haven’t.
