What Should I Do?

by

Joseph Massanga

(Verse 1) Years after years I see the tears in your eyes
Seeing you crying all the time leaves me confused,
Denying seeing you suffering would be perpetuating lies,
I wish I knew what it takes to make you happy;
But I guess in this life one cannot please everybody.
This was the hardest thing for me to accept, but I did it;
It hurts; still this undeniable fact sets my spirit free.
You are leaving me, I am alone now, and what should I do?

(Chorus: repeat 2X)

Pain and sorrow in my life now
Wishing for a better tomorrow,
Even if I am full of pride, I still feel lonely inside,
My love is gone, what should I do?

(Verse 2)

It took years to build trust between you and me
And all of a sudden what I have been living for is fading away,
Love is good, love is delight, and still love can become pain;
I used to think that we could make it together even through the rain,
But today I have to admit that there are things I cannot control;
I stand here all alone, alone in the cold, with my broken soul.
I wish I could turn back the hands of time, and have you back in my life
But it is impossible to change the past; we can only change the future.

(Chorus: repeat 2X)

Pain and sorrow in my life now
Wishing for a better tomorrow,
Even if I am full of pride, I still feel lonely inside,
My love is gone, what should I do?

(Verse 3)

Calling you back to me would be a waste of time
It is Chrystal clear now that you don’t want to come back
Anyway, life has to go on; I don’t want to feel like the mouse on a trap.
This break up will definitely make me stronger
Even if it means I have to suffer longer.
With time my pain will disappear, and with time you will be forgotten.
Well, love can be cruel; I have learnt my lesson;
And I am ready now to meet a new and nicer person.

(Chorus: repeat 2X)

Pain and sorrow in my life now
Wishing for a better tomorrow,
Even if I am full of pride, I still feel lonely inside,
My love is gone, what should I do?
