Born in Dundee, Scotland - my initial writing was more concerned with prose rather than poetry. With one unpublished novel and one 'near-miss' I began to spend more time with poetry and to some extent moved away from writing full-length novels and short stories. My poetry has been received with rather more reader and editorial appreciation than my prose writing and one day - with practice and determination I hope to write a decent poem. I have had my work featured in several publication including: Poetry Scotland, Poetic Hours, Snakeskin, Decanto, Ancient heart and Poetry, Songs and Writers of Scotland. I recently had work accepted by the "Strong Verse" journal and The Loch Raven Review - my first ventures into the North American market. Pens on Fire is a great showcase for both experienced and aspiring writers - I'm proud the editors have selected a couple of examples of my work. I hope my writing comes some way toward the high standard you have come to expect on this lively forum.
