I am a middle school teacher in Howard County, and have been writing since I was a middle-schooler myself. Words are powerful, and students need to be exposed to this concept--in order to discover themselves and the World around them. Poetry is the vehicle through which I choose to teach them that power (along with Language Arts, which I primarily teach). These four poems were inspired by life's movement around me; it's funny how when we merely open our eyes, the magic awakens us. I aspire to long capture that magic--through words or otherwise
