Majda Junicic

Majda Junicic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tuzla I was born on 23rd of May 1985, and I am a prototypical Gemini. This is the first time I send my writings to any magazine, although I occasionally put something I wrote on my blog (blog is my journal, non-artsy journal), and people’s reactions were positive, so I decided to push my luck with pensonfire. When it comes to writing I respect explicitness and breaking every possible boundary. My favourite writer is Sylvia Plath and numerous Bosnian young writers (hopefully you'll hear about them), as well as English (Blake, Dr. Donne, Yeats, W.H. Auden) and French poets (Baudelaire, Verlaine and Prevert). Besides writing and reading I am addicted to music, my favourites are Muse (UK), Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Radiohead and tons of indie new wave bends (lots of them are coming from USA – but Brit pop can’t be outdone). Currently, I’m really depressed because of Igor’s death…and have no inspiration for anything. Well, I’ll graduate, soon hopefully, on the department of English language and literature so if you spot any mistake (I’d be surprised if you don’t), you can freely e-mail me on blissfuladdress@yahoo.com, or you can comment something regarding vocabulary I use, how a native would say something (e.g.). Because these are translations into English and I have never tried translating poetry into English, and from the horse’s mouth I know how difficult it is, especially with no real translation practice.
“And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
