A freelance writer, I write corporate communication for a living – web content, multimedia scripts, brochures etc. I have for long desired to write fiction but the output so far has been disproportionately small – just a few short stories, fewer poems and some sporadic effort towards building a novel. The discrepancy between desire and performance is perhaps because I find reading the works of others too absorbing to be suspended for writing my own, or perhaps I am spoilt by the tyranny of professionalism so much so that I do not write anything that I am not commissioned to. But then, I may be wrong, and a surprise may be just round the corner!
