Nature

Cool water flows in a gurgling stream
Over moss covered stones dried by the sun.
The journey begins up-stream.
Where dragon -flies hover flapping their transparent wings.
Water bugs lie on the surface.
Awaiting their fate.
The sky is clear and the air is fresh.
On the shaded river banks
Birds are singing anew.
This is a timeless place.
A peaceful refuge awaits.
The flowers are in bloom
The stream is alive.
As if unto itself.
Further down-stream water cascades.
Into deep water pools waiting in stillness.
Fragrance of flowers are in the air.
As bees harvest the sweet nectar there.
A moment of stillness is broken
As a squirrel climbs up a tree.
To it’s nest-full harvest.
A blue heron swoops down from above.
To capture a fish in it’s mouth.
And taste the freshness of the day.
Yes, life is abundant here
Or so it seems.
Another day in natures life cycle.
