Soul

by

Melanie Petrandis

Light dancing upon the water-
An endless stretch of turquoise and deep blue
It was there that I found you.

Amidst the waterfalls
That fell like silk ribbons
From the edge of the sky,
An eagle gliding far above the trees
Beauty so intense that brought me to my knees

It was there that I found you.

In the seal's playful eyes
Peeking behind icebergs on the water,
That floated like snowflakes in the sea
Creating peace inside
Allowing me to just be

It was there that I knew you.

Walking in mountains covered in blankets of snow
The rush of a stream heard from afar
Flowing truth into my mind,
Erasing the boundaries of time

It was there that I felt you.
Watching the sunset
Make way for the darkness of the night
Where there is no difference between sea and sky
I found myself at last
Not questioning why.

It was there I found my soul.
